Our delicious gourmet finger food is handmade by our chefs using the freshest and highest quality ingredients encapsulating the finest flavours from classic and modern recipes. The many options we offer can be viewed on the menu below.
How many pieces – it’s not an easy decision. It’s always best aiming to slightly over-cater so you don’t run out – most leftovers can be enjoyed in the following couple of days if kept refrigerated. We generally suggest about 10 pieces per person but it depends on a number of factors: are the guests drinking alcohol (you need to make sure an adequate amount of food is offered), are they big eaters, time of day (have they already eaten), are other food options offered etc.
Take into account also that more substantial items such as bao buns and sliders are considered as two pieces when compared to other smaller items that are considered as one piece. To make it easier, we’ve created an online order form to assist with these calculations (click here) – it uses the formula mentioned above referring to pieces as bites (bao and sliders equal two bites, smaller items equal one bite, sushi long rolls equal 8 bites etc). To use the form, please complete your details followed by the number of guests and the number of pieces for each item you’d like to order. At the bottom of the page, it will show the “Total Cost” and “Bites Per Person” – you should aim for around 10 bites per person. We feel that one bao and one slider per person is a good starting point and then add the smaller items from there – it’s always best to order more quantity of less items than less quantity of more items (try to match the quantity of each item to your number of guests). We’ve found from experience that one guest is likely to say to another “have you tried the Crumbed Lamb Cutlets – they’re amazing” and you don’t want the response to be “no – there were only a few so I missed out”.
Everything is delivered to you cold and we like to deliver at least 30 minutes prior to your guests’ arrival so we’re out of the way before the party starts. Cold items are delivered in our attractive windowed cardboard grazing boxes and, if you’ve chosen items that require heating, they come in our foil trays with cardboard lids and include heating instructions – very simple! If you’ve employed our wait staff for your event, they’ll take care of the heating, plating and circulation of finger food to your guests and will clean and tidy as they go.
We can also supply hire dinner plates, side plates, dessert bowls, cutlery, glassware, trestle tables, black tablecloths and galvanised metal ice tubs together with serviettes and ice if required.
We return to collect the hire equipment in the days after your event – depending on your location, a collection fee may apply.
A cleaning fee is included in the cost for all hire equipment.
We can arrange wait staff for your event (subject to staff availability) – two staff are normally best – one works as event supervisor and heats and plates while the other circulates the finger food to your guests – they both clean and clear as they go – the rate is $60.00 per staff member per hour for a minimum of three hours per staff member (depending on your location, it is sometimes necessary to charge another hour to cover their travel time and expenses).
If you're planning to provide your own catering or another company’s catering in addition to ours, our wait staff are unable to assist with the preparation, heating or circulation of that catering – they can only assist with the catering that we provide.
We can also assist with RSA certified bar staff (subject to staff availability) to serve soft drinks, beer, wine and basic mixed drinks but they cannot assist with more complex cocktails – you’ll need a mixologist for this. Our wait staff cannot assist with the serving of alcoholic beverages.
